\2- Demos. Visual and audial shows on a computer.
\3- Aha, you mean like animations and such things.
\2- Eh... No, not exactly. Demos mainly consist of programmed effects. To make them you have to have great knowledge of how to program the processor.
\3- OK. That sounds boring. What's the meaning with it?
\2- There are no meaning in it, we do it for fun. By the way, is there any meaning in any kind of art?
\3- Well, show me one of your demos.
\2- OK.
\1Time Passes...
\3- Well, that didn't look any special to me. Just a lot of rotating things. Quite boring actually.
\2- Yeah, but all those rotating thins is real-time calculated.
\3- Hmm... That sounds idiotic. Why not just animate? This all sounds like a meaningsless hobby. I have to go now. I have some nice programs to run on my PC.

This, made up conversation is between a standard scener and a standard person in today's society. These days, kids learn how to be a user from the start. There are no longer any kids saying: - "Mummy, I wish a C64 for X-mas so I can start programming demos in Assembler." Today's youth-generation is all to spoiled with advanced interphases to handle all forms of computing.
There was a time when you had to make everything by yourself. That time has made today's scene and it's beings. There will be no more coders. You can already see that today, they are already a dying race. The scene will die without it's programmers. How many groups are not writing this kind of texts: "Coders needed desperatly!"? Too many groups die due to lack of coders. I have experienced it myself, believe me.
Will there be any renaissance of the scene? Nah, I don't think so. Maybe they will open their eyes for our, now dying, madness in year 2100 or something (If the world lasts so long). They will probably laugh at it but there is a chance that they see it as art, like we see some strange behaviors from the past nowadays. If that happens, I will surely laugh in my grave.
If you don't understand what I say when I'm telling you that the scene dies, open your eyes! There are not many new-beginners, especially not new-beginning coder, now. And their number won't increase in our user-friendly society. Slowly, one coder after another will quit and very few new ones will take their place. It's sad, but we have to face the truth.
When I grow older, I will look back at my scene-life with proudness. This strange movement is really worth telling your grandchildren you were a part of.
